In a significant development for policyholders, TAL has expanded its Health Sense Plus program to encompass income protection (IP) policies.
This initiative, effective from August 8, 2025, aims to incentivise proactive health management by offering premium discounts to clients who engage in preventative health checks.

Since its inception in 2019, Health Sense Plus has been instrumental in promoting the importance of early detection and prevention of serious health conditions such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. By extending this program to include IP policies, TAL underscores its commitment to supporting Australians in maintaining their health while making insurance more accessible and affordable.

Under the expanded program, new IP clients can benefit from a structured discount system. In the first year, a 5% discount is applied to premiums, which increases to 10% in the second year upon completion of specified health assessments. This approach not only rewards clients for their proactive health measures but also aligns with TAL's broader strategy to encourage healthier lifestyles among Australians.

Furthermore, TAL plans to invite eligible existing IP clients, whose policies commenced on or after September 24, 2021, to participate in the Health Sense Plus program later this year. This inclusion reflects TAL's dedication to providing ongoing value and support to its existing customer base.

In addition to the program expansion, TAL has announced new pricing for Accelerated Protection policies, effective from August 8, 2025. This pricing adjustment is designed to ensure that TAL continues to offer competitive and valuable coverage options to its clients. A 30-day transition period is available for existing quotes and unsubmitted applications, allowing clients and advisers to adapt to the new pricing structure seamlessly.

These initiatives highlight TAL's proactive approach to integrating health promotion with financial protection. By encouraging preventative health measures and offering financial incentives, TAL aims to enhance the overall well-being of its clients while reinforcing the value of income protection insurance in safeguarding Australians' financial futures.
